Privacy policy
At TyT Tecnología we take care of the information you trust us with. Here we explain what data we collect, what we use it for and what rights you have over it, under Costa Rica’s Law No. 8968 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the Processing of their Personal Data.
1.Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is TyT Tecnología, a workshop and store in Pérez Zeledón, Costa Rica. Contact details are at the end of this page.
2.What data we collect
Your account data, if you create one: name, email address and password. The password is stored encrypted; nobody at TyT can read it.
What you write to us: the messages in your inquiries and the products you keep in your cart.
Minimal technical data for the site’s security, such as the IP address a sign-in attempt comes from.
Preferences stored only in your browser: language, currency, light or dark theme and your cart while signed out.
3.What we use it for
To manage your account, answer your inquiries, arrange purchases, deliveries and repair services, and honor the warranty.
To protect the site: limiting sign-in attempts and preventing abuse.
We do not sell, rent or hand over your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4.Who we share it with
Only with the providers that run the site (hosting, database and image storage), and only to operate it.
When you choose to message us on WhatsApp, that conversation is also governed by WhatsApp’s policies.
With authorities, only when a law or court order requires it.
5.Cookies and browser storage
We use two kinds of cookies, both needed for the site to work: one that remembers the language you chose and, if you sign in, the session cookies that keep you in your account.
Your preferences are kept in your browser’s local storage, and you can clear them at any time from its settings.
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
6.How long we keep it
Your account data and inquiries, for as long as the account exists or as long as needed for the warranty of a purchase or service.
Sign-in attempt records delete themselves when their window expires, within minutes or hours.
7.Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, and withdraw your consent. Write to us using the contact details and we will reply within the time limits set by law.
If you believe we did not handle your request, you can contact Costa Rica’s Data Protection Agency (PRODHAB).
8.Security
The site only works over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored encrypted and the admin panel has restricted access. No system is infallible, but we work to keep your data protected.
9.Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we publish the new version on this page with its update date.
